The Rekindle Foundation is a registered charitable foundation that has been created by the Cook Family to enable our philanthropic endeavours.
As a family we believe it is important for us to help regenerate life on the planet, help create better opportunities for affordable living, contribute to a rich cultural tapestry for the benefit of all, and help build a stronger sense of community.
The rising emissions from industry and population growth are having a real impact on the health of our planet. In addition to this centuries of unsustainable farming practices and land clearing have devastated the forests of our homeland. The long-term damage to the soils and reduction in forest lands has reduced nature's ability to deal with the impact of humanity.
We would like to play our part in helping nature fight back through reducing emissions and especially the rehabilitation of our lands and the regeneration of native forests.
Over-population and the symptoms created by the structure of the housing industry and property investment has made it increasingly difficult for large sections of society to achieve the home ownership dream.
We would like to be part of the change by supporting affordable, sustainable and multi-generational housing.
As capitalism takes a stronger hold and government resources are stretched in dealing with the many issues around climate change, infrastructure and welfare, the funding of the Arts is being neglected. We believe the arts are an important part of human culture and have a strong role in storytelling, reflection and education.
We would like to support talented artists and arts organisations, to help develop Australia’s cultural landscape.
